We are here to provide a walk-through checklist for you about cleaning your home if you are looking to put it on the market or if it already is!
Here are some general cleaning/organizational tips to help make your home sell quicker:
Decluttering your home before putting it on the market is key!
-Kitchen counters should be almost completely cleared
-Remove magnets, calendars, junk from fridge
-Removing furniture from a space – even if that means renting a storage unit (china cabinets, credenzas, random side tables are most common examples of furniture that makes rooms feel over crowded)
-Removing/storing items from overly packed closets
-Keep nic nacks on shelves/tables to a minimum
General cleaning also speaks volumes to any potential buyer!
-Wash the windows
-Dust all baseboards
-Vaccum each room
-Scrub your shower and tub
-Use vanilla or a fresh linen scented plug-in (food flavor scents are not good to use since they are not appealing to everyone)
It is important to remember that every new buyer wants to know that the home has been well cared for and loved! If it’s dirty and unkept, buyers automatically wonder what other more costly items in the home have been poorly maintained.
