A new riverfront living project will soon break ground in downtown Grand Rapids!
That’s right, if all goes as planned, come January 2014 – just one year from now- an Ohio developer will begin groundwork on a new Riverfront Housing project at Front Avenue and 10th St NW in Grand Rapids, between U.S. 131 and the Grand River (home to the former Ryder Truck site).
The project, recently approved by the Grand Rapids Planning Commission, is a residential complex called The GrandView Place and would join Riverhouse Condominiums in housing redevelopments situated between U.S. 131 and the Grand River. The housing plan, designed by Hooker/DeJong Architects, is expected to take a year to complete and would consist of 93 housing units, 80 of which will be offered at subsidized rents, with floor plans ranging from one- to three-bedroom apartments and townhouse units. A public walk along the riverfront is part of the construction plan.
The Woda Group is the project’s developer.
